FAQ Unbox Studio¶
What is a Public Key?¶
A public key serves as a unique identifier, replacing the need for personal information like email addresses or phone numbers. This alphanumeric sequence allows you to receive digital tokens like Unbox’s Ucoin and conduct peer-to-peer transactions, without the need for traditional banks with their high fees and delays.
Your MyUnbox device possesses both a public key (displayed in your MyUnbox device’s “Settings” > “Identity”) and a private key (hidden but stored securely). During transactions, users share their public key, while it’s the private key that validates their identity, ensuring secure and accurate transactions.
This security is upheld by sophisticated asymmetric algorithms. The public key is openly shared, promoting transparency, while the private key remains confidential, safeguarding your transactions. Importantly, even if someone knows your public key, it’s impossible for them to deduce your private key, preserving the integrity of the system and your identity.
What is a Microenvironment¶
Our bespoke environments allow clients to build their own fast and flexible value exchange systems with custom rulesets. They are designed to steer behaviour, prevent leakage and deliver powerful reporting and analytics. Such environments provide a clear understanding of transactions, enhancing decision-making and operational efficiency.
How Can I join a Microenviorment?¶
To join an environment, you must first be given access by its creator. If you do have access, you will have been provided with a QR code that is used to onboard you to a given environment. To onboard, download XYZ from the App Store or Google Play Store and select “Join Environment”. Alternatively, you can navigate to “Settings” and select the Scan button in the top right.
