What happens if I delete XYZ?¶
If you delete XYZ without backing up your device, you will delete your account (your public key) and any coins associated with it. Therefore, we recommend that you backup your device at least once a month so that you can you regain access to your account if you delete the app, if your device is stolen or you get a new device
How do I backup my device?¶
We recommend that you backup your device at least once a month so that you can you regain access to your account if you delete the app, if your device is stolen or you get a new device.
To backup your device, please find “Backup Device” in Settings.
We do not use seed phrases or passwords. Instead, we ask you to select your own Recovery Methods. These are “Trust a Friend”, “Email”, “Apple ID”, “Google” and “Facebook” (with more coming soon).
When Recovering your Device, you will again be asked to revisit these Recovery Methods. Upon successfully validating all of your Recovery Methods, you will once again have access to your account.
For the “Trust a Friend” Recovery Method, we ask you to store a part of your backup with a friend that you trust. They will not have access to your account, nor will they be able to view it. When you then go to Recover your Device, we will ask you to scan a QR code provided by your friend, to prove who you are. For the “Email”, “Apple ID”, “Google” and “Facebook” Recovery Methods, we will ask you to prove that you have access to your account. When you then go to Recover your Device, you will be asked to once again prove that you have access to that account.
