Distributors

Distributors are essential tools for minting and distributing tokens. You can set up a distributor to issue any tokens you’ve created, with the understanding that tokens must be minted before distribution. There are two primary minting methods available, each catering to different distribution needs.

Minting

Type of Minting
Minting #1 In this method, a specified quantity of tokens—such as 1,000—is minted in advance. These tokens can then be distributed to user identities or stored in a vault (e.g., a PG Cluster vault) as needed.
Minting #2 Minting on demand allows tokens to be minted as they are required, such as when a QR code is scanned or an API is called via Curl. For this method, users must set a “credit limit” on their Unbox Credits to control minting volume.

Minting Definition:

To mint tokens, you need a predefined minting setup, referred to as “Published Mints.” These definitions are created within the Identities, Attribute Manager, Currency Manager, or Asset Manager tools, providing a foundation for structured and secure token issuance.

This structured approach helps ensure efficient and flexible token distribution tailored to your specific needs.

Minting History:

You can view your distributors minting history showing the types of tokens minted and distributed.

Distributor Package

After a user has created their Microenvironment, they can create a Distributor Package.

A Distributor Package enables users to configure a complete token distribution setup tailored to their specific needs. It allows for defining the distribution type, whether tokens are issued on-demand or in fixed quantities and selecting the tokens to be distributed within a designated microenvironment.

Users can also establish minting preferences, such as minting definitions that set parameters for issuance, and specify the recipients, ensuring that tokens are accurately distributed to the intended individuals or groups. This flexible and comprehensive setup ensures efficient, targeted token distribution across any project.
